My Rights After They've Adopted
I have been asked to allow my daughter to be adopted by her mothers husband. What are my rights if I choose to allow it or if I refuse it?

To be to the point, if your parental rights are terminated, you will no longer be her father with any rights.
If you want to fight this adoption, do not sign any legal paperwork.
If you are delinquent in child support, the court will address this matter. the court will also look at your relationship with your daughter. Things such as -- Do you talk to her on the phone, do you visit, do you send Christmas and birthday cards and/or gifts.
The court should appoint an attorney to represent the interests of the child, known as an attorney ad litem, and there should have been a social study done. I would highly recommend that you cooperate with the social worker and the attorney ad litem.
The Courts take termination of parental rights very seriously since it is such a severe and final ending of your parental rights.
