Rights as a father?
In the past we found that generally mother's had preference over custody of the parties minor child. However, in the last few decades we have seen a shift in the law as to not discriminate based on the sex of the parties. Florida Statute 61.13 states After considering all relevant facts, the father of the child shall be given the same consideration as the mother in determining the primary residence of a child irrespective of the age or sex of the child.
