Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I want to know if i have any rights. I have been raising my child along with his mother for the first 2 years of his life. After that his mother and i split up for 6 months and during that time we shared custody every other week. We then got back together and moved to NJ. While in NJ she went to Ohio with my son to visit family. After a couple of weeks she decided she was not going to come back and she was going to stay in Ohio with my son. So instead of geting a place in NJ i moved back to FL. What rights do i have if any and is there anything i can do to get him back in FL?

How long has it been since the child resided in Florida? How long had the child resided in Florida?
If the issue belongs in Florida, a Petition To Establish Paternity And For Other Related Relief would need to be pursued.
Basically, in Florida, the Mother has all the rights until a Court establishes paternity and custody. However, if she frustrates your relationship with the child, the Court may hold that against her. Once the issue gets before the Court, there is not supposed to be a preference for either parent.
If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.
