Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I am scheduled for a FIRST CASE MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE for a dissolusion of marraige tomorrow at 9am and I just recieved the mandatory documents from the petitioner (wife). I can not prepare my documents in this little of time for I need to investigate the doc's and prepare questions and use the financial affidavit to complete the child support guidlineworksheet. I also recieved a phonecall from her attorny( I can't afford one) telling me that public mediation is not thurough or up to par and that he want us to go to private mediation with someone that he recommends?

What's your question?
I have to assume you are wondering if you can change the time frame to do the documents. Go to the conference, explain that you just received the documents - you should have 30 days to respond to these. As to the me mediation - the attonrey may request mediation with a mediator and not with the family law section of the courthouse. I suggest you appear at the hearing and voice your denial due to lack of funds and ask the court to consider a less expensive mediator.
