Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I am separated from my wife for 1 1/2 years. We have an eight yr old daughter who now lives in Indiana with her. I am in Florida. I have started a Legal zoom divorce because it is uncontested and have never been ordered to pay support but verbally agreed to $750 a month for my daughter until official. I have never missed. This week, she stole $1500 from my account that I forgot she still had access to. She used it, although for 2 days I had no idea what she had done and why, to drive down 2 days later she says and pick up the rest of their stuff from my house - which she did. I could almost not pay my rent because she took it, and she had asked the day before if any was available, but was told it was all for my rent check clearing any month for child support. She now says she took the money to get the stuff and I still owe her $750 a month for this month and next. I say she just advanced herself those months out of my account without telling me-the exact amount, by the way, of 2 months unofficial support. There is no way she can legally claim this, and force me to pay somehow, can she?

What you probably have here is what us lawyers refer to as a swearing contest, with the judge left to make a decision as whom to believe.
With her playing games, you probably would be better off retaining an attorney.
For many divorce cases my retainer can be as low as $2,350.00.
If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
