Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I have been seperated from my husband for 35 years. Do I need to file divorce papers in order to marry again?

Yes. For assistance with filing, please call my office at 904-371-3538 or email me at [email protected].
Since you are still married, you need to get divorced before remarrying.
If you can locate him, and if he is cooperative, and willing to go to the Courthouse, then I suggest saving the money on an attorney, and just get a "Simplified Dissolution of Marriage".
Even if he is uncooperative, it would greatly simplify the process if you could locate him.
The above information is provided without any consideration/payment having been received, and without full knowledge of all of the facts.
An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
If your situation falls within the Greater Tampa Bay area, I would be happy to schedule you for a no obligation half hour office consultation. The main office is in Dunedin, with a satellite location in Tampa.

unless you were separated under the decree of the court or it was judicial separation, you need to file divorce paper.
