If you never got married, then you don't need (and can't get) a divorce.

Were you both living together in the State of Florida? Florida does not have a common law marriage statute and therefore you would not need one for Florida. HOwever, if you are from another state and have been together for some time according to that state, then Florida may honor your common law marriage and yes you would need a divorce.
