i was just served and it says i have to give a written response but i dont know what to do

I assume you were served with a petition for divorce or paternity, since those are the most common types of petitions served in family law. The first thing you should do is seek the advice of a family lawyer. You'll need to file an answer within 20 days. Some forms for answers of the types you need can be found at flcourts.org.
