Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

have been served papers from the ex to modify alimony.he was a deputy so he can retire at 55 because of the type of job he had. i am trying to keep my alimony,he only retired so he could stop paying, saying he can't afford alimony because of financial circumstances.how can i fight to keep my periodic permanent alimony?????is there a loophole in this kind of case,to help me...the msa gave me alimony,my part of the retirement all the while i was earning a grand or less when the msa was signed...how can i help myself keep what i earned in the 30 years i had invested.....ANGRY DIVORCEE!!!!!!not for the loss of ex, that was a joyous day....

The standard for requesting a modification is a "substantial change in circumstances" if you think he retired on purpose or can find other employment you need to present this to a judge. If his income has actually decreased the judge will probably grant him a modification. You will probably want to consult with a lawyer to discuss your rights.
