Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

serving alcohol to a minor

My 14 yo daughter recently attended a family reunion in IN with her dad. I live in FL and am the custodial parent of her. At the reunion, the brother-in-law to my ex-husband served beer, wine coolers and alcoholic shots to her. Is this illegal and do I have any recourse since I live in FL & this occurred in IN?

Your only legal recourse is to go back to the court that gave you custody and ask for visits with Dad to be limited or supervised. Have you tried discussing it with Dad? Was he aware of this? It is certainly illegal, but can you prove it? They obviously will deny it. Talk to your daughter about not drinking even when offered by such adults (since she apparently confided this in you).
