I`am married to a man in the navy,I have filed for divorce in california where he is stationed.While married we bought a car in florida where we were both residents.We have been in calif. for 8 months now. while separated husband bought another car.He has both cars is first car we bought comunity property? only his name is on registration and only his name is on loan.second car he bought is his because he bought it while we were separated.I have asked to have first car put in my name and take over the payments he wont do it..the navy is no help they stick up for him,he pays no support or any of the bills he closed all bank act..All i have asked for is the car that we bought while married.Divorce isn`t final yet. He will not let me use car either of them. miltary wont do anything and courts here have been little or no help. What can i do?

In California, there is a presumption that an asset acquired between the date of marriage and the date of separation is community property.
I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
