Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have shared custody of my 16 year old son. He spends 50-50 time with each of us. He has expressed a desire to stay with me full-time as he does not get along with his father; which has gotten worse since his father re-married and brought her teenage daughter into their household. There is no alimony involved, and no child support as this has been a 50-50 arrangement. I currently carry my son on my health insurance as well as on my car insurance (his father has refused to contribute to the car insurance). I am not asking for anything from my ex-husband, and I am not trying to keep my son from seeing his father, as we live only 15 minutes from each other. I just want my son to feel safe, secure and loved in the place he calls home.

YOu need to file a Petition to Modify Custody. While you are at it, you might want to consider at this time receiving child support as well.
