Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Hello,

I'm a sigle mom of an almost 11 year old boy who has never had any contact with his father, I have looked for his father for 2 months to renew my son's passport and finally got in contact with him and he wants to signed off his rights to me so I can signed the passport renewal and everything else that i already do with out having to bother him, he has never paid child support, we were never married, and nothing has ever been file with the courts I know there is no such a thing as removing parental rights in florida so I"m not sure what i need to do? do I still have to stablish paternity? do I have to file a custody agreement stating he wants nothing to do with my son? Please help....
