Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

If I signed a birth certificate for a child and later learned that there is a good chance that I am not the father, can I still petition the court for a DNA test and if so what needs to be filed. I filed the motion for scientific paternity testing and the judge told me I needed to file something else.

Birth certificates don't mean a lot in Florida. There are different ways to do this based on where you live in Florida, but you probably need to file a petition for paternity or a petition for disestablishment of paternity. Check with a local lawyer to find out which.
