Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Single mom wants custody please!!!
I have a 3 month old. The father and I have never been married and he did sign the birth certificate. He is in my child's life physically. He has him 2 days a week at 8 hours a day (that was the arrangement I made with him.) but is not supporting him financially. I've already filed for child support. If the father files for joint custody, is there a possibility he will get it? If I file for full legal or sole legal, will I be awarded it?

Unless you can prove that he is an unfit father, it is highly doubtful that you will get sole custody. By your actions in allowing the father to have the child with him 2 days per week for 8 hours, you have already shown your belief that he is a qualified person to share custody. Most likely, the court will award shared parental responsibility with you being named as the primary residential parent.

The best interests of the child will determine custody.
