Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Sister is a Drug Adict
So many insurance vultures over charging people in need...
So many Grants out there...
Why don't they just give her a gun and tell her to shoot her self...
Doctors are the ones that put her on oxy-cotton for back pain....
My sister is a drug adict. It has been a long road even with her being arrested put in drug court. She goes right back to pills. To the point of going face first into her dinner plate at out daughters reception.
I think she will die very soon if I don't find a way to put her away. She does not have health insurance and so that is her big excuse and the state never has room and I am wittness to that.
?1- Can I force her into a place as her sister?
?2- She drives - someone is going to be hurt or worse-should I just wait?
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

Re: Sister is a Drug Adict
In certain circumstances (if she appears psychotic or is suicidal) you might be able to have her "baker-acted" (hospitalized against her will). That will be quite temporary if they do not find her to be mentally incapacitated or suicidal. If you have already tried the government agencies, I would next try private non-profit agencies. In Broward County, you can dial 2-1-1 and get a list of places that might be able to help you. It's a referal/help line.
