Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
may sister lived with a man several years. they had four children together. she was a stay at home mom and he worked. he left them and moved to georgia. he did not pay child support or attempt to contact the children for several years. she has met a man who loves her dearly and wants to adopt her children. he is a truck driver and does not make a great deal of money and they have asked to receive help with food stamps. the state of florida is going to go after the dad of the children. he has now contacted her and told her he wants to spend time with his kids, alone and in a hotel, she is afraid to do that, for fear he and his new pregnant wife will take them back to georgia with them. she wants nothing from him, but the state does. also, her husband wants to adopt the kids. i realize there is a lot here but she doesn't have a lot of money for an attorney and doesn't know where to start. any idea of where she should start?

YOu will need an attonrey for this. However, since the two are not married and he has filed no papers to the contrary, she does not have to let him see the children. With that giving you some time, I would suggest surfing the web to get an attorney to help.
