Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My son and daughter in-law lived in Florida with my 1 yr. old grandson. I was just informed that both my son & daughter in-law are currently in the state of Colorado, and they plan on residing there permanently. In the meantime they left my grandson with another couple in Florida, and my son said they are going to raise him now. My husband (son's step-father) and I discussed this situation and feel it would be best if we were to get custody and raise our grandson, unfortunately we live in Connecticut. As grandparents what rights do we have to obtain custody, and what would be our first step in obtaining it?

Absent proving some form of child abuse or neglect, you have no rights to obtain custody. Unfortunately for grandparents, under Florida law, parents have the right to leave their children with another couple if they desire.
