Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My Son married in Colombia, 3years ago and they never lived together and she never came to the USA. He wants to get divorce because he wants to marry his new girlfriend. Where does he nedd to get divorce here or Colombia? and what happens if he can't find his wife?

Thank you.

If it was a columbian marriage only, he may need to get a divorce there. I would consult with a Columian lawyer to see what the law is there.

My friend, Alan, is mistaken, which doesn't happen often. If your son is a Florida resident, he can get a divorce in Florida. He will need to serve his wife in Colombia, though, if he can find her. If he can't find her, he'll need to serve her by publication, but that isn't the best practice.
