Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I have had my son removed from my home because of domestic voilence with my son's father.son's father and I were drinking at this time and fighting. The Department of child and families in Brevard co Fl. removed my son on Oct 17, 2008. I completed my case plan and I had a court date April 14, 2009 to have the child placed back with me, but I stayed in a hotel on Easter with my son's father and my son and my brother who was the caregiver of my son called *DCF and reported me being with the ex. So time has went by I am in my son's life everyday that I can be, when I am not working. I pay child support plus I buy everything he needs and have a room with everything he needs in. I have tried to reason with my brother but we argue and then i can't see my son so I do whatever he says so that I can be with my child. I don't have extra money to pay for a lawyer. I live in a two bedroom apatrment and it takes almost everything to pay for my bills. I feel like I am stuck in the system and would love to close this chapter of my life. I just don't know what paper I should file. This case has been close with *DCF. I called a local lawyer who wanted$2,500 to start with. I was hoping to find a lawyer who is affordable like $250 to $500 down and make payments. Thanks for your time.

Any attorney would need to know much more about the case in order to consider representing you. $500 down with monthly payments may be acceptable to someone. It is difficult to figure out exactly what needs to be done for you, but it may not be that much in order to get the child back. Any attorney would have to review the case plan. I hope you have a copy.
