Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My son has had sole custody of my grandson for over 12 years. He has the mothers last name but wants to use his fathers. There was a paternity test that proved my son was the father. My grandson will be 13 in March. Michigan schools allowed him to use his dads name, but Florida won't. Can you help me find a way to change his name. Thank you!!!!!!!

He can file a petition to change the child's name, but he has to serve the mother with the petition.
