Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My son is 13 years of age and his father is being abusive. I have him here in florida with me because his father was homeless in north carolina. My son is afraid to go back, and also i am afraid for him. I have DCF involved and they are helping a little but not enough because his father wants him home soon. And his father threathen me with kid napping charges and told me that i dont want to play cause he can play dirty and he will make me suffer and i will lose. I tried to make a case here but they said that i would have to have new jersey transfer it down here, and this will take to much time and his father will have him back and i need to protect my son now. I want to know what i can do to keep my son safe.

You can file an emergency case to have Florida take jurisdiction in a case where child abuse is suspected, but it's very difficult to file such a case without a lawyer.
