Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
If an ex spouse retires early,is he still obligated to pay his alimony and child support ? My support hasn't been posted in my bank yet,it is IDO,but he has retired....How do I get my money? I have been served with modification or termination papers...I was awarded permanent periodic alimony, will a online post of him being a senior pastor help me keep my alimony if he has retired and I found that online....He has a new wife and she thinks it is such a crazy thing for him to pay me after I gave him almost 3 decades of my life and 3 children....Please answer as soon as possible I just have afew days left to find an attorney to respond or whatever it is ..........Thanks so much...

For him to get a downward modification, he needs to prove that a "substantial change" in circumstances has occurred to justify the change. This is a fairly high burden of proof. The "substantial change" is not supposed to be voluntary.
What does he claim in his filing with the Court, as the "substantial change in circumstances" that warrants the modification?
How long ago were you awarded permanent alimony?
If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
