Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

stacked marriages

My husband and i were divorced and remarried 2 and a halph to 3 years later. We spent most of this time together and lived in the same house for about 1 and a halph years and i became pregnant and then we remarried. My husband is disputing temporary alimony since he says the 2-3 years in between marriages does not constitute a long term marriage. If you include those years our marriage would have been 25 years long. What is some case law in Florida for stacked marriages

Re: stacked marriages

The judge will look at the length of time of the relationship, the type of relationship, and even the children of the relationship. It's not a simple matter of how many years. I've seen judges grant alimony for less than 5 years altogether.

Usually, subsequent marriage lengths get added together for alimony purposes.
