Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Out of State Child Support

I have a child support case that was filed over 7 years ago in the state of Maryland. Since then, the non-custodial parent has moved to Florida and I, as the custodial parent, have moved to Texas. I have not received thild support in 4 years. The agency in Maryland has all of the information on the non-cust. parent, incl. place of employemnt, residence, etc., yet have failed to collect shild support from him (he owns several properties in addition to his income from his job). What am I doing wrong? Is there a better way to go about getting child support rather than dealing with seperate states? Can I deal with Florida and if so, would it make a difference or shoud I keep things as they are?

Also, are there any options regarding his property, assets, etc?

Thank you very much for your time.

Re: Out of State Child Support

Contact the agency in Maryland and tell them to prepare an income deduction order so that the child support payments and the arrearages (child support from the last four years) are deducted from his payroll automatically.
