Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
How can the state of forida increas your child support when you privided information to the state of no income coming in at all. How do they increase it without proof of the ability to pay. We have been ordered to pay our support since 1997 they have only done a couple of reviews we just filied a review with the deparemnt of revenue in September then they sent us a summons to increase we then went to our courthouse and filed our response to the summons and provided information on the facts of no income coming in at that my father-in law pays more than 50% of our support. We want to pay but can't at this time do to the lack of income.So what do we need to do to fix this problem we can't even pay what we were already ordered now and how do we obtain help without being able to pay for it legal aid here in Florida only help the custodial parents not us. Please help no where else to turn.

The increase was due to the increase in minimum wage. Anyone can make that. I suggest you find a job. I realize there are a lot of problems with the economy and I do sympathize with you. Many of my clients are in the same boat. However, you have a responsibility toward your children.
