The state can't break up the engagement, but it can keep the parties from having any contact. If the petitioner wants to remain engaged, the petitioner who brought the injunction can file a motion to dismiss.

If your friend wishes to remain engaged to you, then your friend needs to file a motion to dismiss the action. Otherwise, the injuction probably states no contact and if you do, you will be facing jail.
