Step parent adoption
My son's real father has never seen or supported him My son is now seven and my husband of two years wants to adopt him and give him our last name. What papers do I need to file, with the state and other info on what we need to do. I am the only parent on the birth certificate. My son has my maiden name. Thanks a lot.

If you are in my area please call for a free consultation and at that time I can give you a quote for how much a step parent adoption costs. I do not know of any kit that you can purchase to do this on your own. Furthermore, the law changes constantly in this area so be careful if you decide to handle this yourself.
