Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Stopped Alimony
My mother was divorced last year from her second husband. She is 64 and had to go back to work just to survive. Recently her ex has stopped paying the alimony payments. He has missed the last 2 payments with the third coming up next week and no reason to believe he will pay that. Her attorney doesnt seem to be pushing the issue even though this is her main source of income. What can be done when an ex-spouse stops paying court ordered alimony? I have told my mother to set a meeting with her attorney and I will attend with her, but in the mean time is there anything that can be done through the state?

No, a court proceeding is required.
