Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Can I sue my first husband for alimony? He and I were married for 18 years, I supported him financially to get his BA and his MBA and actually got him his first job. He now makes a significant salary, and promised to help me get an education as well. So far I got a BA on my own and can't find any work. I have huge student loans to pay back. He is living the dream and I am homeless and broke. He talked me out of using a lawyer when we got divorced, but he did sell our house and split the profits. He did pay me child support until our daughter was 18. Please let me know.

Look at your papers - did you waive alimony. If so, then no you can not.
