Summons for Motion & Notice of Hearing and Contempt
Our daughter lives in Florida and has apparantly not been paying required child support. She received a motion and notice of hearing on contempt, and we do not understand what one statement contained in the paperwork means. It says, ''A repayment of the arrears that will be more equitably cause their liquidation in light of their amount and the time it would take to repay them.'' What does this mean?
How do you ''repay'' something that has not been paid, and the rest of the sentence doesn't make sense to us either.
We are in Texas and just learned of this, and not sure what it means.
Such other relief that the court may deem appropriate and just.

Hopefully a Florida lawyer will respond to you, as this sounds peculiar to their jurisdiction. I have not heard this language before, and also think it makes no sense.
