Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Tax intercept

How would I find out if I am receiving my ex-husbands tax refund? DOR has set up for it to be intercepted, but I have not received a notice that it will be garnished. He is $20,000 plus in arrears, and I have not received any support from him in over 2 years. If he is now remarried, will that affect my case?

Re: Tax intercept

You don't receive a notice, you just receive the money. The IRS usually won't confirm it for you, but you can try to call them. Otherwise, the only thing you can do is wait to see if the money comes in. The IRS is usually pretty efficient about redirecting refunds for child support.

His being remarried should not affect your case.
