Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Teen daughter does not want to live with her mom.

My husband has been divorced for a long time. We have had custody of his son for 11 years. His Ex wife has custody of their twin daughters. They are going to be 16 in April. One of the girls does not want to live with her mom any longer and this has been going on for almost a year now. She over dosed on alchole at her mom's about 2 months ago. Her mom promised to be a better mother. I guess she's not living up to that promise because things have been getting very volitile over there. She grabbed the other twin by the neck last week. That was an isolated incident with her they usally get along. But the other twin has had numerous confrontations with her the latest was 2 days ago and it led to her mother smacking her in the mouth and telling her to get out. So she did. Her mother later brought her home. My question is. Is there anyway to get the one twin out of there before she hurts herself again. I don't believe it's in the best interest to take the other twin because she doesn't get along with me and cause problems with the other kids. I don't think she wants to leave her mom any way unless she thinks she's going to get something out of it. We don't want no money to change we just want to get her out before something bad happens.

A court can modify a custody order. The father can petition the court for a modification.
