Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Teen Issues
Is there a way that I can take my child to court to get him help with teen issues. My son is 15 years old and has recently started smoking, drinking, and drug use. The police have been to my house numerous times but are unable to do anything. The consequences that I have handed down have been ignored and laughed at. My husband and I cannot afford 3k a month for a boot camp or specialty school and I was hoping there might be something the courts can do to intervene before the trouble gets even more serious than it is. Please let me know what avenues I can go down and what would be the best way to get results if I can. We live in Florida and I do not want my child to end up another statistic.

The court will not serve as the parent to your child unless you are deemed to be an unfit parent and the child is taken away. Perhaps you should attempt to get counseling for your child or get him involved in some other activities (i.e. sports, scouting, youth groups, etc.) to divert his attention from whatever he is doing now that troubles you.
