Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Temporary/permanent custody of my nephew

My sister has just been arrested for violation of parole and her son, my nephew was taken to a foster care home in Monroe County, FL. The lead case worker has told me that it will take 30-60 days for us to bring him to NC. What legal action can I take in order to have this case expidited immediatly???

There is this animal called The Interstate Compact for Placement of Children (affectionately known as ICPC). Since it appears that you live in NC, then Fla as the "sending" state will go thru NC as the "receiving" state and from there it gets worse. Call your local Child Welfare Office where you live and sit down with a case worker and let them explain it to you, geesh!! Expidite and immediately are two words that cannot be used.
