Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Type your question here...My daughter is pregnant.She does not want the father around,she found out he is iv drug user.my husband and I will take care of baby abd her if she wants.The guy s sister works for an attorney and cannot have kids.She was very upset about my daughter getting preg.We are pretty sure the sister and mom are going to take legal measures to try and take my daughters child.My dauighter is 26 and lives with us.His mother found out that my daughter is on paxil and was questioning why.Normally she isn t too nice to our daughter and suddenly she is trying to be buddy buddy. Does his mom have any rights to try and do this.That is all my daughter is worried about and it is affecting the pregnancy.

Florida is not a "grandparents' rights" state, so his mother will only have the rights to the child that he allows her to have. In other words, once he establishes visitation or custody through a paternity suit--assuming he does--his mother will only be able to visit their child to the extent the mother and/or father allow.
