Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Unfit parent

I am the custodial parent. On 2007

while the kids were visiting my ex,

she attempted to choke the smallest

one (7) and asked to take anger

managment and parenting clases,

but meanwhile the visitasion would

have to be supervised. Since then

my ex doesn't call to arrange to see

the kids and now she filed for a

hearing on motion for contempt

saying I don't let her see the kids.

What is the best legal way to answer

this? I consider that is an unfit

parent and just want that her

desitions are for the best for the

children and not the opposite like it

has been all these years. Please help

me... I can't afford a lawyer.

Re: Unfit parent

You can't afford NOT to have a lawyer. The woman actually tried to choke your child and you think you can handle it yourself? You are putting your child's very life at risk by handling this yourself.

Get a lawyer right away, and that lawyer will probably advise you to file a petition for sole custody, but, whatever you do, don't try it on your own.
