Unpaid car loan

I am going to get a divorce, as

soon I can afford itwhat do i

need to do to make sure i get

ownership of a unpaid car that is

in my husband and my name. I

have made all payments on this

car and i have the car now

If your spouse agrees to your keeping the car in your property settlement, you can just contact the DMV for the necessary form to change the name on the title to your name only.

Who's got the title? Do you? If you are making the payments and have been I am sure a court would award the car to you should you file for divorce. Is he also on the car loan? If he is a co-signer he's liable for the debt same as you. So keep the car and agree to pay it off. If he is, why would he want to pick up the debt. You are probably going to wind up paying for it. Did I ask, would he sign over the title to you? Bet not, right?
