Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Unwanted son at home

My son, age 55 is able to work and seems to be unwilling to work. I mistakenly agreed that he could come home to live for a short while.

That was 3 years ago and life for my wife and myself has been hell.

What steps must I take to have him removed? Forcefully if necessary?

Re: Unwanted son at home

You have a family rather than a legal problem. You could ask him to leave no later than a certain date, then, if he fails to leave, contact the local Sheriff's office, request a deputy to order your son to leave. You could even obtain a restraining order to prohibit his coming within, say 500 feet, of your home, and to make no physical contact with you. It depends on what measures are required to cause him to realize that you do not want him living with you. Legally, you have no obligation to support or to provide a home for him, or even to admit him to your home. If there is any hint of resistance or threat of domestic violence, you are advised to contact the Sheriff.
