Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Unwed Father's rights

I am asking this question on behalf of my son. His girlfriend and he are abought to break up. She is 6 months pregnant. She's going back with her ex-husband. It is beginning to appear that she used my son as stud service. Apparently her husband is sterile (no child after 10+ years of marriage) My son wants his name on the birth certificate and for the baby to carry his last name. She is indicating that she wants it to carry her last name which would make it appear that the child is hers and her ex-husband's. Can she legally do this? Is there a way that she can be prevented from doing this? She's apparently looking for an easy way to go around adoption fees and procedures. This is my grandchild and I am interested not only for my son but - yes, me too. I would hate to think that I could loose the chance to know my grandchild simplybecause of a woman with questionable morals.

Re: Unwed Father's rights

Once paternity is established your son will have all rights as a father and you as a grandfather. Good luck.
