Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Visiting a patient

Does the power of attorney allow someone (husband) to prevent blood relatives from visiting a patient in the hospital? And what exactly does power of attorney cover?

Re: Visiting a patient

Hello. In my opinion, a power of attorney should

not be used to prohibit a hospital visit. This is

an abuse of the assignment. A power of attorney allows one to act for another, but of course this power can be abused. That is why it is important how and who drafts a power of attorney. There are legal remedies to defeat powers of attorney in the best interest of the principal. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
