Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Void Marraige
About five years ago, I found out that my marraige is not legal. 25 yrs later. The date of our marraige was July 14. We took the court minutes to get the license and were married in civil ceremony. It later came up that the date on the divorce papers that says ''entered'' is the final divorce date. That says August 9th. Am i correct that my marraige doesn't really exist. I want to leave him now...I've been waiting for the five yrs to make things right. What do I have to do? Can I just leave?

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
I am not sure I understand your fact pattern. You should meet with a local attorney who can review the facts and provide you with a clear answer on this very important question. Do not rely on a guess from an attorney who does not have the opportunity to review all of the facts and review the marriage license as you may get the wrong advice.
