Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Waiver of parental rights
My girlfriend wants her ex-husband to sign something that gives up any and all parental rights he has as a father to their son. He has no current visitation rights and does not pay child support. He is willing to sign any necessary forms. She's afraid he may one day want to come back and have visitation rights.

Re: Waiver of parental rights
There is nothing that your girlfriend can require your predessor to sign that would cut off his rights. However, if you married her and dad signed a consent, you could adopt. It's called commitment. Think about it.
