Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

wedding ring

we were married in 10/2006 and seperated in 11/2007. my husband thinks my wedding rings should be returned to him. I have given him everything we owned in a pre nup and have signed off on all property except gifts to me and anything in my name only. Does he have any rights to my wedding rings?

Re: wedding ring

I can't tell by the way you've posted this whether your divorce will be in Florida or Illinois. If it's in Florida, then the law is that the wedding rings are considered marital property and, therefore, are subject to division like any other property (that is, their value has to be split between the spouses). The engagement ring is usually consider a premarital gift to the woman, and is not usually divided during the divorce.
