Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My wife cleaned out the joint bank account and left me nothing. I found a continual pattern of here transferring large amounts of money to another account in only her name and large cash withdrawls. Can I recover any of those funds?

If she was doing that during the marriage, then through the process of discovery during the divorce proceedings, you should be able to figure out where the money went. Whether any of it will be recoverable is another story.

You should contact a family law attoney in your area as soon as possible to discuss your options.

Yes you are entitled to recoup those monies (or at least half). If she lies about it to the Court you could get the whole thing. Contact my office for free consultation 727-446-7659.

I agree with counsel Buckley. If the money was secreted away and not used for marital expenses or debts, then this was misuse and perhaps waste and she will be held accountable for it. If the funds are still in the separate account you are entitled to equitable distribution of the amount as the joint account is a marital asset.
