Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My ex wife filed for a fast divorce, got the papers at the court house and file herself. We had no property to split. We didn't have attorneys. In the papers it states that I get to claim my child on even years. So the first year will be on this years returns. I lost my job right after the divorce was final. I had no income for 7 months. I just got back to work, but with my current pay their is not way I can pay all of the child support up to date by the end of the year. Ex wife told me that it was against the law to claim my child if I wasn't up to date with all support. It's only state in the paper that I get to claim her on even years. It doesn't state visitation times. And she moved out of state. She lives in Indiana and live in Florida. Do I get to claim her on my 2012 returns without being up to date on support?
