Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
A wife is mentally insane, mentally disabled and drug addicted. She does not work or cook or contribute to household in any way. In short she can not support herself. The husband feels that a divorce court would "take him to the cleaners". and that she would be awarded half of his personal, half of his business, and alimony. Plus the lawyers would then get 20% leaving him broke. If he would agree to support her for the rest of her life (which he has no problem with) why would he have to be "taken to the cleaners"?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Here's divorce law: she gets half of all the stuff you've each accumulated since you got married and you get the other half. If she can't work due to disability and you can work, she gets alimony. Lawyers get paid.
I don't know if you consider that "the cleaners" or not or even if you consider it fair, but that's how it works.
