my ex wife is motioning for me to be in contempt for not paying support while being unemployed, do i need to be there for the hearing even though i was not summoned

You should appear. You may not have been required to be summoned with a special service. Likely, all that was needed is the notice itself.

YOu need to appear. If you do not, she will win a default against you that may end up with you loosing your driver's license in Florida .
