does a first wife have any rights if her husband dies and they are divorced and he is not remarried?

No. She is no longer the wife of the deceased man. She is the ex wife and has no rights as any and all rights were extinguished upon the granting of the divorce.

You might if you are still listed by name on insurance or other assets but otherwise no assuming you divorced before he died.
