You have to review the Final Judgment, and any agreement referred to in the Final Judgment.

Unless the Final Judgment states otherwise, how he pays his alimony obligation is up to him. However, if he does not comply, you should pursue having the Court sanction him.

Without having the Court documents to review, I anticipate that your award of part of his retirement was pursuant to the equitable distribution of the marital assets, which would be separate from alimony.

If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

The above information is provided without any consideration/payment having been received, and without full knowledge of all of the facts.

If he is substantially non-compliant with the Final Judgment, there is a good chance the Court will Order him to pay/reimburse your attorney fees and costs.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.

If your situation falls within the Greater Tampa Bay area, I would be happy to schedule you for a no obligation half hour office consultation. The main office is in Dunedin, with a satellite location in Tampa.
